Vaccine stolen from drug store

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health is reminding people that they should get the flu shot only from an approved source, after some flu vaccine was stolen from a Wellington County drug store on Friday.
Along with a number of other items, 10 vials of the flu vaccine Fluviral were stolen in a drug store robbery, a news release said.
The vaccine has no value as a street drug and may be discarded by the thief. Anyone who comes across discarded vials of the vaccine is asked to contact the health unit at 1-800-265-7293, so the vials can be properly disposed of, the release said.
The health unit is also reminding residents they should get the shot only from a doctor’s office, pharmacist or public health clinic, it said.
