Expending good energy
Editorial: It’s nice to see that the price of hauling and disposing of Guelph’s nonrecyclable and noncompostable waste will go down, not up, in a new 10-year contract that goes to council for approval next Monday.
Sad city developments
Dear Editor: Who will bear this albatross of the City of Guelph’s decision to ‘grow the city’ regardless of disappearing water supply, increasing (and potentially unmanageable) sewage requirements and its decision not to pipe in required water supplies.

Keep bicycles off sidewalks "I disagree a bylaw fining pedestrians is archaic and regressive. Why wouldn't runners be allowed in bike lanes? It's safer and easier on my old bones to run on blacktop than it is on concrete. Learning to share resources is the key. john"

Taxpayers take hit for industrial and multi-residential properties "These jobs created pay about $12 per hour. While the tax for home owners are compounded the industries tax is reduced along with multi residential complexes.More jobs.Low wages.Multi complex living.Sounds like a recipe for future slums to me.Next ele"

Bike lanes not for runners, says city "If you cant run in the bike lane then get the bikes off the sidewalk and walk bikes at crosswalks. Not the mention the ebike riders who travel anywhere they chose.I guess pointing finger at joggers is easier??"
