I was very pleased to learn that next week, Const. Cheryl McMichan will be honoured as the Guelph Police Service Member of the Year.
She recently completed seven years of dedicated service in the canine unit with her partner, police service dog Magnum. The community support she received during that time was truly amazing and generous. The pair was extremely successful, as their stats included 552 calls for service and an overall apprehension of 184 suspects.
May the community take time to pay tribute to this dynamic duo and appreciate that our city’s streets were made safer by their outstanding professionalism and commitment to providing quality policing. A job well done!! I wish Const. McMichan continued success in all her future endeavors, and that Magnum will be happy and healthy in his much-deserved retirement.
