It’s good to see that the community is helping out the local St. Vincent de Paul Society, which suffered a big blow a couple of weekends ago when the warehouse it was renting went up in flames – along with its delivery truck and five truckloads of donated furniture. It says it has been getting calls from people willing not only to donate more furniture, but also to hold onto the furniture until the charity is ready and able to come by to collect it. And the charity, which supplies furniture and household items to people leaving shelters and prisons, says it has also received two offers of use of trucks. It’s great that people are rallying around in this time of need for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. We wish the charity the best of luck in getting fully back on its feet.
