Re: Council challenges Dolime water permit (Tribune, Feb. 7).
City council is right to challenge more water being pumped out of its sole water base right inside Guelph by a commercial operator, so-called River Valley Developments Corp.
Everything council demands is minimal protection of our city’s most precious resource. Why the Ontario government has given a licence to take still more water than ever before when Guelph has had repeated water shortages in the summer boggles the mind.
Is the Ontario government out of its mind? Or bribed with election funds? Or what?
Our MPP Liz Sandals will surely do something about this right quick, or expect loss of all trust in her capacity to protect the most basic life interests of Guelph.
