I am researching my family history and I have found relatives who emigrated from West Bromwich in England to Guelph in 1907.
They were John Poulton, his wife Lizzie and children Samuel, Sidney, William and Elsie.
Sidney and William both enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War 1 and fought in France. Unfortunately, William was killed, but Sidney returned to live in Guelph. There are records for marriages for Samuel Poulton and also for Elsie Poulton in the registers for Guelph.
There is also a photo of the headstone for Samuel in a Guelph cemetery on Rootsweb website.
If any of your readers have information about the Poulton family and their descendants in Guelph, I would be very pleased to hear from them. My email address is breynolds261@hotmail.com
