Shout-out to Guelph workers who came to the aid of picnic

Our special education department had the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful day at Exhibition Park  with a group of our dynamic teens and their ever-devoted Best Buddies.
We arrived at the park last Friday with our arms filled with all the essential ingredients for a fun-filled afternoon, only to find  nowhere to set up. All of the picnic tables were located at far end of the park, near the ball diamonds.
City workers cleaning the restrooms gave us permission to move the tables closer, but it became quickly obvious that the distance would be far too great for anyone to tackle on foot.
Appreciating the short notice, I still thought it would be worthwhile to call the city to see if anyone working in the area might be willing to help us move a couple of tables.
Shortly after, lo and behold a City of Guelph truck pulled up alongside the park. As I made my way over, I noticed two young people inside enjoying their lunch.
I apologized for interrupting their lunch break and told them that I thought they were the city workers who had come to help move the tables.
Immediately they put their lunches away and asked how they could help, how many tables we needed and where exactly would we like them, explaining that their lunch could wait.
So, this shout-out is to the City of Guelph for a job well done in hiring these two incredible young people. Thank you so much for your pleasant attitudes and willingness to go that extra mile – on your lunch break, no less!
You made a great day that much better!
