Taxi drivers are happy

Well, well, well, all of a sudden taking the buses off the main street does not seem so wise after all (Tribune, Oct. 25).
Creating all this free-flowing traffic and parking spaces for cars is not working for merchants. Maybe people in the north and south ends of the city are staying with their big box stores and malls and not coming downtown to search for parking and shop.
I have always thought that a terminal would only benefit our temporary Guelphites, students at the University of Guelph.
The word on the street? The only real Guelphites who are happy with the terminal are taxi drivers. They are Christmas-season-busy with the elderly worrying about missing appointments.
We need to fix this with some real thinking and stop wasting millions in taxpayers’ money.
