Guelph’s annual Terry Fox Run takes place Sunday Sept. 15 at Silvercreek Park, starting at 8 a.m.
Last year, the 410 participants in the Guelph community run raised more than $43,000 and local schools raised $74,480.
The Terry Fox Run came to Guelph in 1982, one year after the first event was held. Since then, the run has taken place every year and has contributed more than $733,500 to the Terry Fox Foundation. People are being invited to walk, run, bike or rollerblade the streets of Rockwood on Sunday Sept. 15 in support of cancer research.
The village is holding its annual Terry Fox Run from noon to 2 p.m., beginning at the Waterside Park pavilion.
Last year’s event saw 25 participants raise over $9,500 for the Terry Fox Foundation, bringing the community’s ongoing total to more than $100,000.
This year’s event in Rockwood features both five- and 10-kilometre routes.
