Wheelie good idea
It’s nice to see the U of G is doing its part to encourage travel by bicycle, which is one of city hall’s current thrusts. The four bicycle repair stations newly installed on campus is the kind of thing that can encourage people to not think of cars when they think of heading to the university. The university is also becoming quite the bus destination, with a terminal in front of the University Centre complete with shelters and, according to a U of G official, 950 buses of various sorts going to the university daily during the school year. The U of G used to be on the city’s outskirts, but now it’s near the centre of town with busy roads running near it. The fewer cars going to it, the better for all.

I applaud the fine efforts of the CSA Bike people, who really know their stuff. They’ve helped me out on several occasions and I’ve volunteered a coupla times.
I wish there was a way to open the shop to the general public, rather than just students & alumni, but I understand that insurance coverage is the issue.
These bike repair stands are something the City should catch up on, but i guess they’re too busy testing out pissoirs for the downtown.
