Worthy cultural assets

Guelph is rich in cultural resources, or at least we think it is. We’ll know better when the city finishes an inventory it is planning that will catalogue just how many public statues, historic plaques, photographers, painters, theatre companies and such there actually are in town. As outlined in last Thursday’s Trib, the project involving city hall, the Guelph Arts Council and the Guelph Chamber of Commerce is mapping the city’s cultural assets.
The end result will be a web portal that will offer a one-stop shop for information related to culture and heritage resources, which is seen as having many uses, including attracting more businesses to the city. It will be nice to get a firmer handle on this important aspect of life in Guelph.
