Although it is great to see them having a good time outdoors, I couldn’t help but wonder where are their helmets? I know measures have been taken to prevent hard shots like the one that tragically took the life of Nick Lambden on a similar day three years ago. I wish young kids and their parents would realize that being out on the ice without a helmet is an accident waiting to happen. Being a parent myself and having been personally affected by Nick’s death, it angers me to see that kids/adults are still taking such a dangerous risk and that parents aren’t insisting that their children wear a helmet while playing.
Let’s use some common sense and help to prevent any further tragedies like the one that took young Nick .
