I was stunned to read that as a homeowner my municipal tax will increase so renters will get cheaper rates. Let’s see, I pay more and get less, so somebody else can pay less and get more.
And who really believes rental property owners will lower rates? Come on!
Last week, I also learned there would likely be no GO parking at an inner city GO station. Who in their right minds wants to spend 30 minutes on a municipal bus to travel to the city core for a 90-minute train ride to Toronto, and then have to take Toronto transit to their workplace? And don’t forget to calculate the ticket prices. It’s not cheap.
Travel by car just got a lot more attractive.
It’s time to think about moving from Guelph and discourage others from moving here. In the meantime, don’t vote for any member of council who supports these initiatives.
