The Barrie Baycats erased a five-run, eighth-inning deficit on their way to a 11-10 home win Sunday in Game 5 of their best-of-seven Intercounty Baseball League semifinal series against the Guelph Royals.
Barrie now leads the series three games to two.
The Royals led the game 10-5 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning. Barrie scored three times in the eighth and three in the ninth for the comeback win.
Steve Coates, Frankie Hare, Sean Reilly, Chris Robinson and Nathan Grant each had two RBIs for the Royals.
Bryan Boudreau took the loss for Guelph. He pitched one and one third inning and allowed three runs, just one of them earned.
The Royals made four errors in the loss and Barrie made two.
Game 6 is scheduled for tonight (Monday) at 7:30 p.m. at Hastings Stadium.
The winner of the series meets the Brantford Red Sox in the IBL championship series.
