The Guelph Gryphons bounced back from a lopsided season opening loss with a 28-9 road win over the Windsor Lancers on Saturday night.
Windsor entered the game as the No. 7-ranked team in the nation.
For Guelph, Rob Farquharson (Niagara Falls, Ont.), rushed for 142 yards and had a touchdown. Jazz Lindsey (Markham, Ont.) passed for 217 yards and a TD in front of an announced crowd of 3,752.
Windsor’s nine points came from three kicked field goals.
The Guelph win puts both the Gryphons and Lancers at 1-1 on the season. The Gryphons opened the season with a 50-9 road loss against No. 1-ranked McMaster.
