Last year’s District 10 football finalists – the John F. Ross Royals and Our Lady of Lourdes Crusaders – are off to smashing starts this season.
Both are 2-0 and both have given up fewer than 10 points total this season.
On Friday, Ross topped St. James 35-7 on the road.
Charles Carrier had three TDs for Ross, the defending champs. Jake Frimeth and Willy Rannachan each had TDs as well and Bobby Mackenzie kicked five converts. Michael Webber had St. James’s TD with Emilio Pivato kicking the convert.
At Lourdes Friday, the Crusaders led Centennial 48-6 at halftime and won by that same score.
Nick Parisotto had 18 points for Lourdes while Jeremy Kennedy and Noel Amaya each had 12. Ryan Finoro had six. For Centennial, Omar Williams had six
On Thursday, Guelph CVI improved to 2-0 with a 28-19 road win over Bishop Mac. Details weren’t provided.
