Former Toronto Maple Leafs star Wendel Clark is among former Leafs who are scheduled to play a fundraising hockey game Saturday (Jan. 5) at the Sleeman Centre in downtown Guelph.
The game will see Toronto Maple Leafs alumni play against Guelph Fire Fighters with proceeds going to the Firefighters Benevolent Foundation.
Other players scheduled to suit up for the Leafs alumni team are Gary Leeman, Greg Hotham, Mark Osborne, Dave McIlwain, Jeff O’Neill, Rick Natress, Tom Fergus, Darryl Shannon, Craig Muni, Dan Daoust and Mark Laforest.
The puck drops at 7 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre for the game.
The Firefighters Benevolent Foundation is used to assist area hospitals in purchasing medical and emergency equipment.
The fund has raised over $500,000 since it began in 1984, said a news release.
Money is used to purchase electric beds and crash carts, as well as contribute toward the C.T. Scan (CAT scan), Dialysis Machine, and equipment for the Chemotherapy Unit, said the release.
