Guelph Storm centre Robby Fabbri was picked by the St. Louis Blues in the first round of the National Hockey League draft on the weekend.
Fabbri, a Mississauga native, was taken 21st overall at the draft. He was the lone Storm player selected.
Also at the draft, Guelph’s Patrick Sanvido, of the Windsor Spitfires, was picked in the seventh round by the Dallas Stars.
The defenceman was picked on Saturday, his 18th birthday, said an article on the Spitfires website.
“Greatest day of my life,” said Sanvido, in the article. “I wasn’t expecting anything. And since it was my birthday, I decided to treat it like any other birthday.
I went golfing this morning. Then I came home and I actually found out through our team’s twitter account.”
