While the end of summer is bemoaned by many, the arrival of fall comes with open arms to lots of fans of football.
Locally, the District 10 high school football season is in its third week and three teams – Guelph CVI, Our Lady of Lourdes and John F. Ross – are undefeated with 2-0 records.
Late last week, Guelph’s six teams were all in action in town.
At Bishop Macdonell Thursday, Guelph CVI topped the host Celtics by a 28-19 score.
On Friday, Our Lady of Lourdes beat Centennial 48-6 at home and, over at St. James, the defending champion John F. Ross Royals bested the Lions 35-7.
