The Guelph Gators are off to a 4-0 start at the national midget fastpitch championships in Montreal.
Guelph has beaten the Calgary Kaizen 8-1, the Regina Riot 7-0, the Victoria Devils 3-2 and Alberta’s Wildcat Warriors 6-2.
Against Calgary, Lyndsay Butler got the win and Skyler Patteson had two hits.
In the win over Regina, Alex Sagl pitched a complete-game, six-inning no hitter. She also had two hits and two RBIs.
Against Victoria, Guelph had just two hits but scored the win. Butler and Riley Carter had hits and Butler was the winning pitcher.
In their tourney-opening win against the Wildcats, Jade McGarr and Jennifer Wilcox each had two hits. Gillian Murray got the win.
Guelph is scheduled to play the B.C. Renegades at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday).
