Gryphon games: Men’s hockey squad downed

The Guelph Gryphons men’s hockey team fell to 5-12-4 with a 5-2 loss against Brock Saturday. James Merrett and Zach Lillie scored for the Gryphons. Friday, Guelph beat Windsor 6-1. Cale Jefferies and Merrett each scored twice and singles came from Nathan Martine and Matt Lyall.
Guelph visits UOIT (4-16-1) tonight before they host Laurier (6-13-1) Friday in a game that takes place at the Sleeman Centre at 7:30 p.m.

Women’s hockey: The Gryphons went 2-0 on the weekend.
In a 4-0 win over Windsor, Erin Small, Tamara Bell, Kaitlyn Mora and Jenna Lanzarotta scored. Brittney Crawford recorded two assists.
In a 5-2 win over Western, Mora and Lanzarotta each scored twice while Emily Corbett had one.
Guelph (14-3-1) visits UOIT (7-11-0) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Men’s volleyball: Guelph lost 3-0 to Western Saturday and 3-0 to Windsor Friday, both at home. Winston Rosser had 14 points for Guelph Saturday and 11 Friday.
The Gryphons (8-5) are at McMaster (9-2) Saturday at 8 p.m.

Women’s volleyball: Guelph fell 3-0 to Ottawa Saturday and 3-2 to Western Friday, both at home. Erinn Bickle recorded 10 points Saturday and Taylor Crown had 17 Friday.
Guelph (5-6) visits McMaster (5-6) Saturday at 6 p.m.
