The  Guelph football Gryphons made history Saturday with a 39-18 road win over York.

Since the provincial university football loop was formed in 1971, no Guelph team has ever won seven games in the regular season. Saturday’s win gave Guelph a 7-1 record.

Jazz Lindsey was 10-for-25 passing, for 163 yards. Robert Farquharson had 125 yards on 17 carries.

Guelph hosts a Yates Cup semifinal game against a to-be-determined opponent on Nov. 3. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
