The Guelph Gryphons battled both pouring rain and the McMaster Marauders on Saturday in OUA football play.
Taylor Palmer had two key interceptions for the Gryphons as they held on to beat their visitors 24-22 and improve their record to 4-0 this season.
With less than 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, McMaster was looking to tie the game 24-24 but a two-point convert attempt failed and gave Guelph the win.
The Gryphons Homecoming game was played in front of an announced crowd of 12,000, though rain looked like it did a bit of a number on the crowd size.
Running back Rob Farquharson had 119 net yards in the win. Quarterback Jazz Lindsey was 17-for-27 in passing, for 173 yards.
The undefeated Gryphons travel to Waterloo on Saturday Sept. 28 to take on the Waterloo Warriors (1-3). Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
