The Guelph Gryphons women’s rugby team took care of business – and then some – on their way to a 109-0 win over Brock in OUA quarterfinal play on the weekend.
Trys came from: Caitlin Beaton, 2, Brittany Benn, 4, Elizabeth George, Elizabeth Hunter, Brittany Kessil, Daria Keane, 3, Morganne Linthwaite, Megan Lowry, Caitlin McNally, 2, Shannon Spurell. Converts: Stephanie Tibelius, 11.
Guelph, the defending national champs, was 6-0-0 in the regular season and outscored their opponents 388-8.
The Gryphons host McMaster (4-2-0) Saturday at 1 p.m. in an OUA semifinal game at Varsity Field.
Men’s rugby: Guelph remains undefeated after a 59-8 win over RMC.

Guelph (6-0-0) visits Toronto Saturday for a 7 p.m. match.
Men’s soccer: Guelph fell 2-1 to McMaster Saturday and tied Brock 2-2 last Wednesday. Justin Springer scored versus McMaster while Jared Agyemang and Colin Aubrey tallied in the tie.
Guelph (5-6-1) was to play at Brock Wednesday. The Gryphs have been playing recently without the services of Robbie Murphy, last year’s CIS player of the year, who has been out with injury.
The Gryphons visit Laurier Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
Women’s soccer: The Gryphons are undefeated in three straight games after a 1-0 win over McMaster Saturday and a 2-0 victory against Brock last Wednesday. In the 1-0 win, Erica Bain scored in injury time for Guelph.
Against Brock, Bain and Courtney Whiteside tallied.
Guelph (6-3-4) was to visit Brock Wednesday. The Gryphons are in Waterloo Saturday to take on Laurier at 1 p.m.
Field hockey: Guelph earned a 3-1 win over Waterloo and a 5-0 win over Queen’s.
Against Waterloo, Brittany Seidler scored twice and Erin Houle had one.
Versus Queen’s, Houle and Allison Chute had two each and Seidler scored one.
Guelph (7-1-1) plays York Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Queen’s.
Men’s hockey: Guelph got its first win of the season Tuesday, topping UOIT 7-4.
Goals came from Andy Bathgate, 3, Justin Gvora, Jon-Thomas MacDonald, James Merrett and Kenneth Peroff.
The Gryphons (1-3-1) were to play Western Wednesday night.
Their next OUA game is at home against Waterloo Oct. 25, 7:30 p.m.
Women’s hockey: Guelph split a pair of games on the weekend, beating Western 2-0 and losing to Windsor 3-1.
Amanda Parkins, Christine Grant and Katie Mora scored while Brooke Siddall earned the shutout.
The Gryphons (3-1-0) were to visit Brock Wednesday night.
Saturday, they’re at Queen’s for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Men’s lacrosse: Guelph was edged 7-6 by Western.

Guelph (8-2) is at Laurentian Sunday at 2 p.m.
Women’s lacrosse: The locals topped McMaster 10-4 and UOIT 12-2.

The Gryphons (9-2) are off to the OUA championships Oct. 26-28 at Queen’s.
