The 2012 inductees into the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame will be honoured on Tuesday Oct. 30.
This year’s inductees are: Russ Hammond (builder), Helen Stoumbos (athlete), Bert Brown (veteran athlete), Mel McPhee (official) and the Team Dorey (team) curling team.
They will be celebrated Tuesday during the Kiwanis Sports Celebrity Dinner, which takes place at the Italian Canadian Club. The night starts with cocktails at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner is set for 7:15 p.m. Headliner guests include Canadian Hockey League president David Branch, Guelph Gryphons football coach Stu Lang, Canadian Olympian marathoner Alex Genest, and Helen Stoumbos, an inductee. She is in the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame and is a soccer television personality.
