Five high school sports championships will be awarded this week.
On Friday night, the John F. Ross Royals will take on the Our Lady of Lourdes Crusaders in the District 10 football final.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the University of Guelph’s Alumni Stadium.
In semifinal games last week, Ross topped St. James 10-7 in overtime. Dominic Janus kicked the game-winning field goal in OT.
In the other semifinal game, Lourdes beat previously undefeated Guelph CVI by a 21-12 score. Details were not made available.
The District 10 senior and junior girls championships get decided Saturday afternoon at the University of Guelph.
The senior game is scheduled for 3 p.m. and the juniors tip off at 1 p.m.
St. James and Bishop Macdonell both finished atop the standings in the senior loop, each with 12-2 records. St. James got the tiebreaking edge.
In the junior league, Lourdes scored first place with a 13-1 record and Bishop Macdonell was second at 12-2.
Quarterfinal games are today with semifinals on Thursday.
The District 10 boys volleyball finals are scheduled for Friday at the University of Guelph with the senior finals slated for 8 p.m. and the junior at 6 p.m.
Both the senior and junior leagues featured teams with undefeated records atop their standings.
Lourdes was 12-0 in the senior league and Centennial 14-0 in junior. Semifinals are slated for Wednesday.
