Hockey Gryphons split pair

The Guelph Gryphons beat Nipissing 3-2 in a shootout Sunday in OUA men’s hockey play on the road.

On Saturday, Guelph lost the first game of the 2014 portion of their schedule, 4-1 at Laurentian.

In Sunday’s win, Leonard Fabbri and Brett Appio scored for Guelph while Niklas Huard scored the lone goal in the shootout.

Saturday, Ken Peroff had the lone goal for Guelph.

The Gryphons (8-7-3) host Ryerson (12-5-0) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
