Hoops MVP headed east

Jesse Kendall is trading in the blue hue of the Bishop Macdonell Celtics for the red threads of the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds.

Kendall, named Most Valuable Player in District 10 senior boys basketball this past season, has committed to New Brunswick for the 2014-2015 season.

The 6-foot-2 sharp-shooting guard  won the District 10 title, the CWOSSA AA championship, and the OFSAA AA consolation title with the Celtics this past season. The team did it all with just eight players, three of them in Grade 10.

“Jesse is an honour roll student and a terrific scorer,” said New Brunswick coach Brent Baker, in a news release.

“His commitments to his academics, coupled with his off court training are attributes we seek in our recruits as we build our championship culture. Jesse is a key addition to our program moving forward.”
