Eight teams are scheduled to compete at this weekend’s Guelph Gryphons/Bishop Macdonell Celtics senior girls basketball tournament in support of breast cancer research.
The tourney tips off Friday at noon with the Celtics taking on Preston at Bishop Mac.
Action continues the rest of the day at Bishop Macdonell. Guelph’s other representative, the John F. Ross Royals, open their tourney Friday at 3 p.m. against Bluevale (Waterloo).
Saturday’s games take place at the University of Guelph with the first game starting at 9 a.m. Participating teams Saturday will depend on results Friday.
The consolation championship takes place Saturday at 3 p.m. and the finals is at 5 p.m.
On Friday night, the Gryphons women’s basketball team will host York at 7 p.m. in an exhibition game.
