Hurricanes season comes to a close

The Guelph Hurricanes lost their game and their playoff series 4-1 on Wednesday night on the road against the Waterloo Siskins.

Waterloo scored three of its goals on the power play as they were 3-for-5. Guelph was 0-for-1.

The win gave the Siskins, the No. 3 seed in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Midwestern Conference, the best-of-seven series win in five games, as they took it four games to one.

Craig Martini scored the Hurricanes’ lone goal. It came in the second period and cut a 2-0 deficit to 2-1.

In Game 4 on Tuesday night in Guelph, the Hurricanes stayed alive thanks to a Michael Courvoisier overtime goal that lifted them to a 5-4 victory.

Craig Martini and Matt Nightingale each scored twice for the Hurricanes in regulation time.
