Knights out! Storm oust Knights in five games

The Guelph Storm got past the London Knights 5-4 Friday night to win their best-of-seven, second-round OHL playoff series four games to one.

Scott Kosmachuk broke a 4-4 tie with less than four minutes left in the second period and the goal would go on to be the game winner.

The teams combined for nine goals in the first two periods, before a scoreless third. The squads exchanged leads throughout the first two frames, and neither had a lead of more than a goal.

Also scoring for the Storm were Zack Mitchell, Tyler Bertuzzi, Jason Dickinson and Robby Fabbri. The game drew an announced crowd of 5,007 to the Sleeman Centre in Guelph. The Storm outshot London 36-33 in the game.

Guelph now faces the Erie Otters in the Western Conference finals.
