The Storm's season came to a tough end Sunday night in London, Ont.

Magical season ends in heartbreak

Teary-eyed Guelph Storm captain Matt Finn has one last look up into the stands as he leaves the Budweiser Gardens ice on Sunday night after their loss in the Memorial Cup championship game.

Guelph entered the game favoured by many to win it, but lost 6-3 to the Western Hockey League champion Edmonton Oil Kings.

The loss brought an end to a record-setting season for the Storm. The team had a franchise record 108 points, and 52 victories this season.

They went 16-4 in the post-season on their way to winning the OHL and then went 3-0 at the Memorial Cup before losing Sunday’s finals in London, Ont.
