Guelph Storm rookie goaltender Matthew Mancina has been named the Canadian Hockey League’s Goaltender of the Week.
Mancina, a 17-year-old Tecumseh, Ont., native, recorded two shutouts in two games for the Storm for the week ending Dec. 15.
He stopped all 56 shots he faced in wins over Owen Sound (4-0) and Erie (5-0) on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The Storm plays its last game before the Christmas break tonight (Thursday) when they host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at 7 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
