On cloud nine

The Bishop Macdonell Celtics won their ninth straight AA CWOSSA senior girls basketball championship last week on their home floor.

Not to be outdone, the Celtics junior girls team won the AA CWOSSA title, too.

The seniors, who beat Our Lady of Lourdes to win the District 10 title, beat Owen Sound  CVI 59-30 in the CWOSSA finals.

The Celtics will compete at the AA OFSAA championships starting Thursday in Sault Ste. Marie.

The junior Celtics won their CWOSSA title game by a 66-25 score over Kincardine.

The senior Celtics are: Hannah Larmer, Sandra Clark, Sabrina Cazzola, Anna De Lange, Vicky Lin, Katie Labron, Mackenzie Bernhardt, Ellie Young, Andrea Priamo, Kaityln Phillips, Rebecca Morris, Jessica Morris. Manager: Ryan Driscoll. Coaches: Karen Bremner, Emily Nienhuis, Emily Josilin, Rebecca Keil.

The junior Celtics are: Mikayla Tassone, Jessica Burke, Carter Godman, Tianna Sullivan, Rebecca Valeriote, Kylee Szendry, Madison Martinez, Cindy Seke, Marcela Gadzinska, Hannah Kendall, Rachael DiGravio, Johanna DeJong, Danielle Driscoll, Laura Sarro. Manager: Mei Fung Yau. Coaches: Karen Bremner, Deb Kewin, Andrea Comini, Penny Larue.
