Royals downed in Game 1

The Guelph Royals lost 5-3 to Brantford in Game 1 of their best-of-five Intercounty Baseball League playoff series Friday night in Brantford.

Guelph led the game 3-0 heading into the third inning, before Brantford scored five unanswered runs.

Bruce Yari, Chandler McLaren and Patrick Coughlin each had two hits for the Royals.

Game 2 was scheduled for tonight (Saturday) in Guelph but it has been postponed due to rain.

The game has been rescheduled for Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Hastings Stadium in Guelph.
