The Guelph Royals lead Ottawa two games to none in their best-of-seven playoff series.

Royals paste Fat Cats

The Guelph Royals scored early and often in an 18-4 pasting of the Ottawa Fat Cats in Intercounty Baseball League play on Monday night at home.

Guelph now leads the best-of-seven first-round playoff series two games to none.

The Royals led the game 9-0 after the first inning.

Frankie Hare had six RBIs on the night while Mark Allen had four and Kevin Treichel and Sean Reilly each had three. Tyler Wheeler and Hare each had four hits.

Four Guelph players hit homers in the game: Hare, Reilly, Allen and Treichel.

Adam Reynolds got the win. He pitched six innings, allowing six hits and two runs (one of them earned).

Game 3 takes place Friday in Ottawa at 7:35 p.m.
