Spartans again tennis titlists

The Centennial Spartans have won their 22nd straight District 10 team tennis title.

Centennial earned 47 team points at the event last week at the Royal City Tennis Club. St. James was second with 47 points.

In girls singles, Centennial’s Helen He was first. In second was Montana Crawford of John F. Ross CVI and in third was Louie Bieman of St. James.

Top three in boys singles: Eddy Phachanhla, GCVI, first; Jackson Lay, Centennial, second; Charlie Hewak, Ross, third.

Girls doubles: Alicia Mell and Jessica Lyver, St. James, first; Brynn and Sarah Jichici, Centennial, second; Ashley Manuel and Isabel Richardson, Our Lady of Lourdes, third.

Boys doubles A: Dave Fell and Lane Furlong, St. James, first; Ian Newman and Jonah Saunders, Centre Wellington, second; Adam Slater and David Jamieson, Bishop Macdonell, third.

Mixed doubles: Shelina Ruda and Gareth White, Centennial, first’ Marisa and Ravi Seth, Centre Wellington, second;  Felix Obrascovs and Monica Trimble, Our Lady of Lourdes, third.

The CWOSSA championships take place Thursday in Waterloo.
