They traded points like two prized fighters trade punches.
But in the end, the Centennial Spartans delivered the knock-out blow by winning the fifth and deciding set to capture the District 10 senior girls volleyball title Friday night at the University of Guelph.
Third-place Centennial beat the first-place John F. Ross Royals 3-2 (25-18, 21-25, 25-17, 21-25, 15-7) in the exciting championship tilt.
Ross, which was without at least one of its key players for the match, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the final set before Centennial roared back for the victory.
Centennial’s Brodie Buchner-Duby was named her team’s MVP of the match while Gaby Bowden earned the honour for Ross.
