Storm roll to 2-0 series lead

The Guelph Storm is heading into Erie with a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven OHL Western Conference championship series.

The Storm built a 3-0 first period lead before topping the Otters 7-2 Friday night in Game 2 at the Sleeman Centre.

Late in the first period, Erie was out-shooting Guelph 16-6, but it was the home team which lead 3-0.

Zack Mitchell, Scott Kosmachuk and Kerby Rychel each scored twice in the win while Robby Fabbri had the single.

The game was played in front of an announced crowd of 4,923.

Game 3 is Monday in Erie at 7 p.m.

In the Eastern Conference championships series, North Bay won Game 1 Friday night by a 1-0 score at Oshawa.
