Storm rolls over Erie on road

Touchdown Guelph Storm!

On Monday night, the Guelph Storm scored seven times against the Erie Otters for the second straight game as the locals earned a 7-1 road win to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven OHL Western Conference championship series.

Scott Kosmachuk scored for Guelph just 18 seconds into the game. The Storm led 2-1 after the first period before scoring five unanswered goals.

Robby Fabbri had a hat trick and other goals came from Kerby Rychel, Tyler Bertuzzi and Brock McGinn. Guelph outshot Erie 41-24 in the game, played in front of an announced crowd of 4,327 in Erie.

Guelph was 3-for-13 on the power play and had a short-handed goal as well. Erie was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

Game 4 is tonight in Erie at 7 p.m.

In the Eastern Conference final, North Bay leads Oshawa 2-0 heading into Game 3 tonight in North Bay, also at 7 p.m.
