Storm victorious in Game 1

The Guelph Storm beat the Erie Otters 5-4 to take Game 1 of their best-of-seven Western Conference final playoff series Thursday night.

Horvat’s game winner came six minutes into the third and about three minutes after Bertuzzi, with his second goal of the game, tied it.

The teams combined for nine goals on 53 shots as Erie outshot Guelph 27-26.

Also scoring for the Storm were Kerby Rychel and Jason Dickinson.

Game 2 is tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
