Stormers shut out Rangers

The offensively-gifted Guelph Storm got just two goals Tuesday night, but it was enough to top the Kitchener Rangers as they shut them out 2-0 on the road.

Robby Fabbri scored for the Storm in the second period of the Ontario  Hockey League game and Zack Mitchell added an empty netter for the two-goal  cushion.

Earlier in the day, it was announced that Mitchell had signed a contract  with the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.

Guelph outshot Kitchener 51-33 in Tuesday’s win. Justin Nichols got the shutout in the Storm net.

The league-leading Storm (49-11-2-1) host Owen Sound (28-26-3-5) Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
