Strong string for Storm

The Guelph Storm earned five of a possible six points from Ontario Hockey League games in three straight days last week.

Saturday, Guelph fell 4-3 in a shootout in Owen Sound, in front of an announced crowd of 2,892. Scott Kosmachuk scored twice for Guelph and Hunter Garlent had one goal.  The night prior, the Storm battled back to top Plymouth 5-4 in front of an announced home crowd of 3,104.  Guelph trailed the game 3-1 in the third period before coming back to win it. Justin Auger had a hat trick and singles came from Jason Dickinson and Andrey Pedan.  Thursday in Windsor, Garret Sparks got the shutout in a 5-0 Storm win in front of 5,565 fans. Zack Mitchell scored two goals while Ben Harpur, Brock McGinn and Kosmachuk each had one. Tanner Richard chalked up three assists.

Guelph has four wins, two losses, no overtime losses and one shootout on the season.

They’re at home Friday to take on Erie (2-3-1-1) at 7:30 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
