Three Guelph Thunder hockey teams earned silver medals at the 14th annual Guelph Girls Hockey Association Thunderstorm Tournament over the weekend.
The Guelph Atom A, Midget AA and Midget A Thunder teams all reached the finals of their respective divisions before falling.
The Atom As lost 2-0 to Chatham, the Midget AAs fell 2-0 to Sarnia ad the Midget As were edged 1-0 by Belmont.
More than 1,400 girls aged five to 17 took part in the three-day tournament. Eighty-six teams competed for gold in 12 divisions.
Teams from as far as Chicago and Sault Ste. Marie were among participants.
The tourney brings more than 4,000 people into the city for the weekend, said a news release.
