Top teams play to soccer stalemate

The Bishop Macdonell Celtics and St. James Lions played to a 0-0 tie Tuesday in a battle for first place in the District 10 girls soccer standings.

Each team entered the game with 4-0-0 records. Neither team has conceded a goal so far this season.

In Tuesday’s draw, Tianna Sullivan was credited with the shutout for Bishop Mac while Tiffany Strub got the clean sheat for St. James.

Elsewhere Tuesday, Our Lady of Lourdes topped Guelph CVI 8-1 and John F. Ross beat Centennial 2-1. Scoring for Lourdes were Heidi Raab and Cassy Figluzzi, each with two goals, Aida Raab, Andrea Katona, Kahlan Bourget and Nicole Kurtz. Kristin Kohlmeier scored the lone goal for Guelph CVI. Sydney Johnson had both goals for Ross in their victory and Erin Mackay tallied for Centennial.

The regular season for the league wraps up on Tuesday.
