The Guelph Gryphons men’s and women’s basketball teams lost to the tough Windsor Lancers squads Saturday on the road.
The men’s team was dropped 82-72. Dan McCarthy had a team-high 20 points for the Gryphons.
Guelph fell to 3-6 with the loss and Windsor improved to 7-2.
Two nights earlier, McCarthy scored 20 – including the game-winning three-pointer with seconds to go – in a 58-57 home win over Western in his first OUA game of the season.
Ryan Higgins, a graduate of St. James high school in Guelph, was Western’s top scorer with 14 points.
Guelph hosts McMaster (4-5) Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The women’s Gryphons were dropped 87-54 at Windsor Saturday.
Kayla Goodhoofd had 13 points in the loss. Guelph’s record dropped to 4-5 with the defeat and Windsor improved to 9-0.
Thursday, the Gryphons were topped 68-64 by Western at home. Goodhoofd led the way in points for Guelph, with 14. Guelph hosts McMaster (3-6) Wednesday at 6 p.m.
