Game 4 is tonight in North Bay at 7 p.m.

Two late goals lift Storm to dramatic Game 3 win

The Guelph Storm scored twice in the last 30 seconds of the game to pull out a 4-3 win over the North Bay Battalion Tuesday night.

Zack Mitchell tied the game 3-3 with 30 seconds to go with Storm goalie Justin Nichols on the bench in favour of an extra attacker. While it looked like the teams would go to overtime for the third straight time in the OHL championship series, Brock McGinn scored the winner moments later, with 11 seconds left.

The win, played in front of 4,248 fans in North Bay, gives the Storm a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 tonight in North Bay.

In Game 3, the teams traded goals all night, with neither scoring two in a row until the Storm’s late pair got them the win.

Tyler Bertuzzi and Robby Fabbri also scored for the Storm.

Guelph out-shot North Bay for the first time in the series, holding a 44-26 advantage in shots on net in the game.

Game 4 is tonight in North Bay at 7 p.m.

Game 5 is Friday at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, also at 7 p.m.
