Unique golf clubhouse opening

The area’s newest golf course is doing something unusual to celebrate the opening of its new clubhouse on Sunday June 29 – namely, letting golfers pay what they think shooting a nine- or 18-hole round of golf is worth.
Victoria Park Valley Golf Club is located at 7660 Maltby Rd. E., near the intersection of Victoria Road South and Maltby Road in Puslinch township.
The open house to celebrate the opening of the new clubhouse will from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be open to the public.
The 3,900-sq.-ft. clubhouse includes a main seating area, Pro Shop and Snack Bar counter, and a commercial kitchen, with club storage and locker facilities on the lower level, a news release said. Outside, its features include decks and a large patio on three sides, with great views of the golf course.
“It was a challenging winter to build, but we’re very pleased with results,” general manager David DeCorso said in the release. “Our members and tournament clients are so happy to have this building, and we’re looking forward to ‘showing it off’ to our many public players and customers.”
To help celebrate the open house, the club will allow golfers to book a nine- or 18-hole round of golf and “Pay What You Think It’s Worth,” the release said.
“We’re excited to showcase the golf course as well as the clubhouse,” said John DeCorso, who manages marketing for the Victoria Park golf courses.
“So we decided to come up with a promotion that’s out of the ordinary: at the end of your round, you can actually pay what you think it’s worth. It’s a special thing to help highlight the day.”
