Bring on the rain

The cast of Royal City Musical Productions Inc., with their matching yellow raincoats, is ready for the rain to hit the River Run Centre stage. The local theatre group has been busy with rehearsals and preparations for its upcoming production of Singin’ in the Rain, which opens Nov. 21. The show is a stage adaptation of the classic MGM film set in 1920s Hollywood. For those who don’t know it, the story is a light-hearted romantic comedy about the early days of sound film. It is packed with song-and-dance numbers, including the title number, which will feature an on-stage rainstorm. The production coincides with the 60th anniversary of the release of the film. The show runs from Nov. 21 to 25, with show times at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 to 24, and matinees at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 24 and 25. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 519-763-3000 or online at www.riverrun.ca.
