Giant Book Sale hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Volunteer Carol Schenk organizes cookbooks in preparation for the Friends of the Guelph Public Library’s Giant Used Book Sale. The sale, which is an annual event in support of a new main branch of the library, will take place from Oct. 19 to 21 at the former FastForms factory at 251 Massey Rd. New to the sale this year, patrons can enjoy refreshments and treats baked by College Heights students in the “Readers’ Café” at the sale. Early birds can get into the sale Friday between 4 and 5:30 p.m. for a “first of the line” fee. Entry is free for the rest of the weekend, with sale hours from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The sale includes more than just books, with DVDs, LPs, puzzles, games and more also available. Prices mostly range from 25 cents to $3. For more information on the sale, visit www.friendsguelphlibrary.ca.
